So for most places, summer has been present, maybe even for awhile, but here in the Pac Northwest, we say Summer doesn't technically start till July 4th. Which is true as witnessed by the lovely 80 degree weekend and now a cold and rainy Monday morning.
But this weekend, we got a glimpse of the fabulous Portland summer ahead and did our best to spend as much of it outdoors as possible.
Saturday, we went with pal Avie down to the Farmer's market. Great way to spend the day with good friends and good food. We managed to pick up lots of treats while we were there. Elliot especially loved the bike ride back to Avie's house where she got to ride in the trailer with Avie (not sure Randy loved the bike ride so much) :-)
On Sunday we celebrated the day with a Family picnic with friends from "mom's" group. It marked not only a celebration of Dad's but also a farewell for the Hughson's who are leaving us to go to Dallas for a few years where Josh has a fellowship. They will be be missed!
After that it was off to Aunt Jenna and Uncle Zack's house for a bbq. Ribs and Zack's famous Mac 'n Cheese. Elliot had a blast running around with Gavin, who also taught her a new trick - doing a somersault. And I think she must have done it 20+ times after that.
Zack and Jenna has a special visit from Jenna's Dad Leroy and his daughter Dani so we got to meet Uncle Leroy too! Clearly a family resemblance there!
