Texas Trip - Part #3

Seriously, I'm a total slacker (not to mention so is E's dad) since neither one of us has gotten a part three done and we've been home for almost 3 weeks now. So hear goes...

Following a great visit to Austwell, we returned to Scott & Ann's beautiful new house in Austin for the remainder of the trip. Thursday we packed up the group (and a total of four 4 cars; due to all the car seats) and headed over to Barton Creek. April's sister Mandi and Violet were even able to join. After a short 1/2 mile hike in (or at least short for those of us not 5 months pregnant)we ended up at one of the small tide pools. It was a great place for the kids b/c it was nice and warm and shallow enough that we could all stand (even Teagin and Elliot could stand in some spots). Not sure who had more fun..the adults or the kids. The kids were exhausted after a few hours. Little Violet couldn't even wait till she got to the car to take a nap.

Huge thanks to Scott and Ann for suggesting. It was a great way to spend an otherwise very hot day. After that it was back to Scott & Ann's for a bbq. Elliot had fun following her cousin Teagin around all evening. She even snuggled up next to her just before bed (after kicking poor Rocoo and Pickles out of bed).

On Friday morning, April and Teagin braved the heat for another walk through UT so Dad could visit his old stomping ground before we headed back to Portland.

Overall, a wonderful visit and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon hopefully.
