So if you ever need to know the best time to hit the snow in PDX, it's 8:30am on NY Day. We left the house at 8:30 and were literally driving parts of the trip alone b/c the roads were so empty! Guess everyone was still recuperating from the night before!
Since we hadn't gotten enough snow in Sunriver, we decided to make a quick morning trip out to Mt. Hood for some sledding. Joined by Lori, Jon, Hazel and Rhienna, we bundled up and set out. And what an amazing day it was. We were one of the first cars in the parking lot. It was a little cold, but once we rounded the bend to the sledding hill it was pure perfection. Sunny, not to cold and shielded from the wind! Elliot loved going by herself in Sunriver so she was anxious to hit the mt. again. I little more scared this time, but she managed to overcome that and we spent over two hours going sledding.
Daddy and Jon decided to be daredevils and made there way up the really tall, sleep run. Thankfully they both made it down safely but as David said...that hill "was for men that don't know (or want to admit) they're middle aged yet!"
A great day of fun and an awesome way to ring in the new year!
